FurusatonoYadoKobase

A gourmet inn loved by Kaiko Takeshi, with a panoramic hot spring and suisen buro overlooking the Sea of Japan

Fukui Echizen Town

"Furusato no Yado Kobase" is a long-established ryokan restaurant in Echizen Town, Nyu District, Fukui Prefecture, founded in 1870. Known as an inn loved by the great writer Kaiko Takeshi, it offers superb Echizen crab and local fish, including the signature "Kaiko-don" named by Kaiko himself. From the panoramic open-air hot spring bath, the vast Sea of Japan stretches out in an unobstructed view right before you, offering beautiful sunsets at dusk and fantastical fishing lights at night as you relax in the mildly alkaline Echizen Tamagawa Onsen. In winter, from around December to February, the inn holds an elegant seasonal "suisen buro," where bundles of Echizen daffodils are floated in the bath, filling all five senses with the delicate fragrance of daffodils and the warmth of the hot spring.
