Sumie Chita is an adults-only onsen inn in Utsumi, Minamichita-cho, Chita-gun, Aichi Prefecture. Main Bathhouse Tsuki-no-Yu
This main bathhouse carefully preserves Japan’s first public hinoki tub bath, crafted by a master of hinoki woodwork. In a quiet space lit by soft downlights, you can savor the deeply moisturizing waters of Utsumi Onsen to your heart’s content, wrapped in the rich scent of hinoki. As time slips slowly by, you can sink into deep relaxation.
Main Bathhouse Matsu-no-Yu
A renovated hinoki bath brimming with the warmth of wood. Though the space is intimate, the pleasant scent of hinoki drifts through the air, letting you stretch out and unwind. There is also a relaxation space where you can cool down while gazing at the sea and a beautiful garden, so even the time after your bath feels luxurious.
Private Bath Tenjo-no-Yu
A private bath with spectacular views, set on the rooftop overlooking Ise Bay. In a private space where no one will disturb you, you can have the scenery of sea and sky melting into one all to yourself. The same floor also has an open-air bath for all guests with a wonderful sense of openness, and in both you can bask in blissful relaxation as you feel the pleasant sea breeze.
