Gifu Gero City
An adult premium resort where you can enjoy Japan’s Three Famous Springs for beautiful skin and spectacular open-air baths
"Ooedo Onsen Monogatari Premium Gero Honkan" is a large hot spring hotel in Gero City, Gifu Prefecture. Its alkaline simple spring water, drawn from Gero no Yu, one of Japan’s Three Famous Springs, is known for its smooth, silky texture like a skincare lotion. The spacious public bath and open-air bath created in the 2024 renovation offer sweeping views of the Gero townscape and the Hida mountains below. A dry sauna where you can work up a thorough sweat and a refreshingly cold cold plunge bath are also available, making it easy to enjoy a premium hot spring experience along with a rejuvenating break. The hotel also features a premium lounge with free drinks including alcohol and a private open-air bath in the guest rooms where you can enjoy the famous spring at your own pace, offering a higher-grade stay away from everyday life.

A spacious men’s hot spring area with an open feel, overlooking the Gero townscape and the Hida mountains below. The silky alkaline simple spring water, counted among Japan’s Three Famous Springs, gently wraps the skin of your whole body. After warming up in the indoor bath, you can relax in the open-air bath while enjoying the pleasant outdoor breeze. At night, the beautiful nightscape of the hot spring town spreads out before you and gently soothes the fatigue of your journey.

A scenic women’s hot spring area where you can fully enjoy a premium skin-beautifying spring. Its mellow, gentle texture is like skincare lotion, and after bathing you can enjoy the sensation of your skin becoming deeply moisturized. From the open and airy open-air bath, you can take in sweeping views of Gero’s beautiful sky and townscape as they change with the time of day. It is a place where you can spend blissful moments while feeling the breath of nature.

This dry sauna gently wraps the entire body in pleasant warmth and slowly eases both physical and mental tension. In a quiet space, you can face yourself while gradually working up a high-quality sweat. It is ideal as a warm-up before soaking in the famous spring, or for alternating between hot spring and cold water baths, further enriching your refreshing experience during your stay.

A crisp, cold cold plunge bath that refreshingly tightens a body heated by the sauna. The cool water gently envelops your entire body, easing the heat and guiding you into deep relaxation. It provides an essential, balanced hot-and-cold experience that is perfect for cooling down after a thorough soak in the sauna or hot spring.
