About Okunakayama Kogen

"Okunakayama Kogen" is a resort hotel located in Okunakayama Kogen in Ichinohe Town, Ninohe District, Iwate Prefecture. Guests can enjoy hot spring bathing in two large public baths: Asashu no Yu, where free-flowing natural spring water can be enjoyed together with an open-air bath, and Kosei no Yu, which is well equipped with features such as a medicinal bath and a carbonated bath. The spring quality is a sodium bicarbonate spring that leaves the skin smooth and silky. Each of the large public baths is equipped with a proper sauna that thoroughly warms the body, as well as an ice-cold free-flowing cold plunge bath using mountain stream water.

Large Public Bath Asashu no Yu

A large public bath that offers the sodium bicarbonate spring's skin-beautifying hot water in luxurious free-flowing style. The water is characterized by its smooth, silky texture, which softens the skin and leaves it moist and smooth after bathing. In addition to an indoor bath overlooking the magnificent panoramic natural beauty of Okunakayama Kogen, guests can enjoy an open-air bath where they can feel the clear highland breeze directly on their skin.

Large Public Bath Kosei no Yu

A large public bath in the main building, known for its variety of baths. In addition to the main tub where you can enjoy natural hot spring water from a sodium bicarbonate spring, with a small amount of added water and heating, it also features a soothing electric bath that promotes circulation with gentle electrical stimulation, as well as medicinal herb baths and event baths that gently loosen the body. The synergy of the hot spring and the wide variety of tubs lets you warm up deeply from the core and ease your fatigue.

A full-fledged dry sauna with the warmth of wood, equipped in each of the two large public baths. Even in summer, it is kept at a very low temperature, and its crisp, clear feel against the skin offers outstanding refreshment. With water so fresh and clear that it is drinkable, it rapidly cools down the body heated after sauna use.
