About Gen Hakone Gora

"Gen Hakone Gora" is a luxury onsen ryokan in Gora, Hakone-machi, Ashigarashimo-gun, Kanagawa Prefecture. It stands on a hillside overlooking a sweeping panorama of the Hakone mountain range and Sagami Bay, with Myojogatake and other peaks crowned by the Great Fire Festival pattern on the mountainside. All 18 rooms are equipped with a large open-air bath fed directly from the source, spacious enough for several people to relax in, as well as a generous wood deck with spectacular views. In the large public bath, where a dreamlike giant rock wall covered in moss releases intermittent onsen mist, guests can enjoy the soft Gora onsen waters. With a full-fledged dry sauna for both men and women and alternating hot-and-cold bathing with a cold bath, the property offers the ultimate secluded stay, perfectly balancing body and mind.

The abundant, high-quality source of Gora Onsen is used in luxurious complete free flow from the source style. The spring quality is a very skin-friendly, gentle sodium chloride spring, with excellent beautifying and moisturizing effects. The public bath is a mysterious space where an otherworldly intermittent mist rises from a gigantic rock wall covered entirely in lush green moss. The heat of the onsen and the steam effect of the mist moisturize the whole body, allowing you to feel the energy of the quiet natural surroundings on your skin.
