About Toya Sun Palace Resort & Spa
Toya Sun Palace Resort & Spa is a large lakeside resort hotel in Sobetsu, Usu District, Hokkaido. Its main bathhouse is semi-open-air and can be opened up completely, a rare design in Japan, and it looks out over a sweeping, breathtaking panorama of Lake Toya. In the standing-depth open-air bath, where you feel almost at one with the lake, you can soak in a celebrated, mellow sodium chloride–sulfate spring known for keeping the body warm. There is a wide range of baths, including a jacuzzi and a reclining bath, as well as a proper sauna with löyly you pour yourself. The lake is visible from the sauna windows too, and after a good sweat you can cool down blissfully on the terrace in the breeze off the lake.

Indoor bath
The spacious main bathhouse is semi-open-air and can be opened up completely. Its baths brim with the mellow water of a sodium chloride–sulfate spring known for keeping the body warm. With a wide range of baths, including a jacuzzi, a hinoki jet bath, a reclining bath and a floating bath, you can take your time and soak however you like.
Open-air bath
An open-air bath with a spectacular view of Nakajima Island, the symbol of Lake Toya, right in front of you. Lean against the edge of the standing-depth bath and you get the curious, immersive sense of bathing in the lake itself. At night it becomes a front-row seat for the Long-Run Fireworks Festival, offering the luxury of gazing up at huge, vivid fireworks while you soak.

Sauna & Cold Bath
A dry sauna next to the main bathhouse where you pour your own löyly: pour water over the sauna stones and the rising steam and pleasant heat wrap around your whole body. Work up a deep sweat facing the magnificent view of Lake Toya beyond the window, then cool your flushed body in the refreshing cold plunge. Settle into a chair by the open-air bath and the clear air and gentle breeze wash over you, drawing you into a restorative moment in the embrace of nature.
