About La Vista Hakodate Bay ANNEX
"La Vista Hakodate Bay ANNEX" is a hotel in Hakodate, Hokkaido. Opened in 2023 as an annex to the main building in the bay area, it is an adult-oriented inn with a distinctly Hakodate style, blending Japanese and Western design. On the upper floors, the natural hot spring large bath features a hinoki indoor bath, a lying bath, an open-air bath, and a barrel bath. Beyond the large windows, you can take in Mount Hakodate and the city lights that make up one of the world’s three great night views. It also has a dry sauna and a cold plunge bath, and after working up a sweat, you can enjoy late-night ramen and ice pops in the post-bath lounge overlooking the Tsugaru Strait. The private baths, each with its own character, require no reservation, so you can enjoy the hot spring all to yourself whenever the mood strikes. Dinner offers shabu-shabu and sushi, while breakfast features a popular buffet.
Hot SpringONSEN
Large bath
A natural hot spring large bath on the upper floors. The sodium-chloride strong salt spring water is rich in salt and clings to the skin with a silky feel, retaining heat deep in the body even after you get out. The hinoki indoor bath releases the scent of wood, and if you lie back in the reclining bath, tension slips away from your whole body. Step out to the open-air bath or barrel bath and a broad view opens up, with Mount Hakodate and the city lights spreading before you. At night, you are embraced by the sea of light known as one of the world’s three great night views.
Private bath
Private baths of different styles arranged on the 9th floor. The feel and fragrance differ with each material—ceramic, brick, and hinoki—and even the way the warmth of the water reaches you changes. No reservation is needed, so if one is available you can close the door and make it your own private hot spring. Beyond the bath, the changing sky and Hakodate cityscape lie before you, while the wind from the sea carries the steam away. It is a luxury that lets you enjoy the hot spring all to yourself whenever the mood strikes, without worrying about being seen.
In-room open-air bath
A natural hot spring open-air bath available only in the special rooms. A round tub is set on the terrace, and when you sink into the water, the horizon of the Tsugaru Strait stretches out beyond Hakodate’s cityscape. The real appeal of an in-room open-air bath is that no one rushes you, and you can soak for as long and as often as you like. Whether bathed in morning sunlight or wrapped in the glow of the city lights at night, time quietly passes as you enjoy the hot spring.

Dry sauna
A dry sauna wrapped in the warmth of wood grain and gentle natural light. As the crisp, dry heat brushes over your skin and you quietly steady your breathing while feeling the different levels of warmth on each tier, sweat begins to bead and your body gradually loosens from deep within. When you sink into the nearby cold plunge bath, the chill wraps around your heated body and the lingering warmth slips away. After that, head out to the open-air bath and let yourself be carried by the wind passing through Hakodate. Since there are times when it cannot be used from late at night until early morning, it is best enjoyed before the night gets too late.

By train and bus
- JR Hakodate Station -> Hakodate Bus "Motomachi Bay Area Loop" or Hokkaido Bus "C Route" about 5 minutes -> a short walk from Hakodate Beer Mae
- Hakodate Airport -> Shuttle bus about 35 minutes -> about 2 minutes on foot from in front of Hakodate Kokusai Hotel
- Hakodate Airport -> Taxi about 20 minutes
Parking for 42 cars (surface lot). Winter tires are required from around November through early April in most years.
