Akita Yuzawa City
A secluded hideaway at the foot of Mount Kurikoma, where you can immerse yourself in natural hot spring water from its own source and the quiet of the forest.
"Yumekemuri no Yado Inazumi Onsen" is a hot spring ryokan in Yuzawa City, Akita Prefecture. Tucked away in the mountains at the foot of Mount Kurikoma, it is a secluded hideaway in the Akinomiya Onsen district, said to be the oldest in the prefecture. The bath area makes full use of a plentiful free-flowing private spring. You can enjoy two different bathhouses in rotation, one with an indoor bath built from stone and an open-air bath overlooking a clear stream, and another with an open-air bath made of cypress and one made of ceramic; both feature a dry sauna and a cold plunge bath. The private baths, each with its own atmosphere, are available without reservation and can be used as often as you like, while the guest rooms come with a free-flowing bath fed from a different spring than the large communal bath. The building carries on the design sensibility of a famous ryokan from the Showa era, with a library associated with Mushanokōji Saneatsu and a yukata corner, and at night its signature late-night ramen awaits.

Enjoy free-flowing natural hot spring water from a private source, made possible by the abundant volume of water, in two bathhouses with different atmospheres. With indoor baths made from stone and cypress, as well as open-air baths with distinct character in stone, tile, cypress, and ceramic, you can experience both through the gender rotation system. The smooth water gently seeps deep into your body, while the sound of the clear stream below and the greenery filling the windows loosen your thoughts.

The two private baths, each with a different atmosphere, also feature free-flowing water from the private source. No reservation is required, and if available, they can be used freely as many times as you like during your stay. From the bathhouse wrapped in bamboo-woven walls and the soft light filtering through shoji screens, you can enjoy the greenery of the trees spread out beyond the window all to yourself. In this quiet time with no need to worry about anyone else, only the sound of water continuously falling from the spout echoes through the space.

Each guest room comes with a free-flowing bath fed from a spring separate from the one used for the large communal bath. In addition to an indoor cypress bath that carries the scent of wood, some rooms also have an open-air tub made of wood, allowing you to sink into the water in complete privacy while looking out at the greenery. At night, the space is wrapped in silence; in the morning, dappled sunlight and birdsong drift in. Being able to soak as long as you like without watching the time is a luxury made possible by having a bath right in your room.
