About Kyukamura Nyuto Onsenkyo

"Kyukamura Nyuto Onsenkyo" is a resort accommodation facility in Semboku City, Akita Prefecture. Nestled in a beech forest within Towada-Hachimantai National Park, it stands in the Nyuto Onsenkyo area, known for its famous hot springs. It has two natural hot spring sources with different water qualities, both flowing directly from the source. One highlight of this inn is that you can compare a mild sodium hydrogen carbonate spring and a sulfur spring with a distinctive scent in the indoor baths. The open-air bath is filled with sulfur spring water, and the forest visible from the tub changes with the seasons, from fresh greenery to autumn leaves and snowy scenery. Inside the facility, there is a restaurant serving a buffet of local cuisine, as well as a café, shop, library corner, and massage corner, and day-use bathing is also available.

Large bath

Of the two hot spring sources flowing into the indoor baths, the spacious tub is filled with sodium hydrogen carbonate spring water. This natural hot spring flows directly from the source and feels soft as it brushes against the skin, with lingering warmth that continues gently even after you get out. Beyond the windows stretches a beech forest, allowing you to watch the changing seasons while soaking in the water. The spring is said to be beneficial for cuts, burns, and chronic fatigue, helping to slowly ease a body tense from mountain walking. The men's and women's baths have the same layout, so both offer the same bathing experience.

Open-air bath

An open-air bath embraced directly by the beech forest. It is filled with direct-from-the-source simple sulfur spring water, and a gentle scent of sulfur rises with the steam. From the tub, the forest overhead shows seasonal expressions like a painting, from fresh greenery and deep green to blazing autumn leaves and snowy scenery. The same water also fills a smaller indoor tub, allowing you to enjoy a bath tour of comparing it with the other spring source within a single facility. This spring is said to be beneficial for arteriosclerosis and high blood pressure.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
