About Mori no Yu Kiranosato
"Mori no Yu Kiranosato" is a hot spring inn in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Set on a vast property where mountains, fields, ponds, and a stream spread out, it recreates a nostalgic satoyama landscape just as it once was, stirring fond memories from the moment you step onto the grounds. The large bath area features carefully designed tubs such as hinoki indoor baths, a stone tub, a cascade bath, and an open-air bath built with rocks, so time slips away as you move from bath to bath. In the December 2025 renewal, a self-löyly sauna and bucket baths were added, along with two cold plunge baths at different temperatures to help cool your body down. Three private baths with different atmospheres are available free of charge and without reservation, letting you have the spring water all to yourself. At night, late-night soba is served at the Satoyama Community Hall, and the satoyama night gently deepens.
Hot SpringONSEN
Large bath area
The property has its own natural hot spring source, and each of the men's and women's bath areas is equipped with hinoki indoor baths, stone tubs, cascade baths, and open-air baths built with rocks. The alkaline calcium-sodium sulfate spring water feels smooth and soft, and its skin-caressing texture has earned it a reputation as a beautiful skin bath. Linger slowly in the lukewarm water, and in the open air, be surrounded by seasonal trees and birdsong. Including the bucket bath added in the renewal, the pleasure of bath hopping never ends even while staying inside the building.
Private bath
Three private baths with different atmospheres are scattered throughout the property. A bold bath carved from a massive rock, a Japanese-style setting accented with bamboo on the walls, and a serene room surrounded by stone each have a completely different character. All of them are filled with free-flowing natural spring water, and the best part is that no reservation is required and you can enter as many times as you like if they are available. Sinking up to your shoulders in a bath where no one will disturb you, and enjoying the sunlight filtering through the trees or the night breeze all to yourself, is a luxury unique to this inn. There are no washing areas, so you can focus solely on soaking in the water.
Open-air bath in the guest room
The guest rooms, styled to evoke an old folk house, come with a private open-air bath supplied by free-flowing natural spring water. The greatest luxury is being able to slip into the water the moment you feel like it, without worrying about anyone else. In the morning, you can soak while bathed in the light that pours into the satoyama; at night, you can have the bath all to yourself under the sounds of insects and the glow of the stars. The gentle water wraps around your skin, and the close-at-hand freedom to bathe over and over again in your roomwear makes the time spent on the trip feel even more rich and immersive.

Self-löyly sauna
A dry sauna newly installed in the large bath area as part of the December 2025 renewal. It is available in both the men's and women's bath areas, and you can enjoy self-löyly, heating the sauna to your liking with your own hands. Each time you pour water over the heated stones, white steam rises softly, raising the humidity in the room and turning dry heat into gentler warmth. As you wait in the quiet, wood-lined interior, sweat gradually beads on your skin and the heat slowly reaches deep into your body, just like the unhurried pace of satoyama life. It cannot be used from late night through early morning, so it is best enjoyed as part of your bathing flow.
Cold BathCOLD BATH
Cold plunge bath
The large bath area has two kinds of cold plunge baths, one at room temperature and one with a chiller. If you relax and surrender yourself to the soft, gentle coldness without sharp edges, the heat will slowly unwind rather than being rushed away. On the other hand, the well-chilled clear water cools your body in one breath the moment you sink down to your shoulders, sharpening your senses down to your fingertips. Choose the level of coldness according to your condition and preference that day, then head out to the open air after leaving the water. The wind crossing the satoyama, the rustle of the trees, and the birdsong wrap around your wet skin and lead you into a quiet afterglow.
