About Hamachidori no Yu Kaisyu
"Hamachidori no Yu Kaisyu" is a hot spring ryokan in Shirahama, Wakayama Prefecture. The entire cape itself becomes the inn, and wherever you are inside, the sea and sky fill your view. Three distinct bath areas are the stars of the stay, and in the mixed-gender open-air bath at the end of the stairs leading down to the shoreline, you can wear a bathing garment and feel as if you are blending into the vast ocean. The separate baths for men and women feature a cypress indoor bath, plus cypress barrel and rock open-air baths, with two different hot spring sources flowing continuously. There is also a dry sauna and a cold plunge bath. Free private open-air baths are scattered along the path down to the sea, and the property also offers a relaxation area and late-night soba.

Public baths
In the separate baths for men and women, two different hot spring sources flow continuously. The cypress indoor bath gives off a quiet scent of wood, and when you sink into the water, the sea spreads out across the entire window. Outside, a cypress barrel bath and a rock bath stand side by side, allowing you to bathe while gazing at the green of the trees and the blue of the sea during the day, or at the starry sky overhead at night. The salty water warms you thoroughly, and even after you get out, its warmth lingers on your skin for a long time.
Mixed-gender open-air bath
With every step down the stairs leading to the shoreline, the sea and sky seem to draw closer. At the end is an open-air bath that appears to connect seamlessly with the horizon. Because you can wear the bathing garments provided in the changing area and enter together, men and women alike can sit side by side and look out at the same view with someone important to them. In the morning, the sea shines a brilliant blue; in the evening, it turns a deep crimson, and you can surrender yourself to the liberating feeling of melting into nature.
Private baths
Along the path down to the sea are two private open-air baths built a little apart from each other. No reservation is needed, and if one is available, you can use it for free. The farther down you go, the lower the horizon appears, and the sea feels almost within reach from the tub. The glossy stone bath and the rock-built bath have different atmospheres, and in time that belongs to no one else, you can soak while listening only to the sound of the waves.
Open-air bath in guest rooms
The detached rooms closest to the sea each come with a private open-air bath with free-flowing water from the source. From the tub set on the terrace, the Pacific stretches out without anything blocking the view, letting you have the sunrise lifting over the horizon in the morning and the quiet of nothing but the sound of the waves at night all to yourself. The luxury of being able to step into the bath whenever the mood strikes, without worrying about being seen, makes a stay on the cape even more immersive.

Dry sauna
The wood-lined dry sauna is quietly filled with dry heat, and once you sit down, your skin gradually begins to tingle with warmth. The body that has stiffened along the way slowly loosens, and after that still, empty moment, a sense of mental clarity arrives. If you lower your heated body into the tap-water cold plunge bath, the sharp chill settles the heat at once, and the contrast between heat and cold spreads through your whole body as a clear afterglow. If you then walk out to the open air, the sea breeze crossing the cape brushes your wet skin and leads you into a rest wrapped in the sound of the waves.
