Livemax Resort Shiretoko Seafront is a resort hotel in Rausu, Hokkaido. Its greatest draw is the main bathhouse with superb ocean views over the Nemuro Strait and Kunashiri Island. Its own source, Marumi Onsen, is a sulfur-bearing cold mineral spring that gently envelops the skin, and bathing while gazing out to sea is something special. Besides the open-air bath, where you feel the sea breeze, there is also an indoor bath made with chaga mushroom extract. After working up a good sweat in the dry sauna, you can cool off refreshingly in the cold plunge. Rooms in the new wing have their own warm-stone room, a private space to recharge.

The indoor bath also offers a chaga bath made with chaga mushroom extract.

Just a few steps away, a refreshing cool wraps your flushed body, and you can enjoy pleasant alternating hot and cold bathing. Once thoroughly cooled, step on into the airy open-air bath area. The flow continues smoothly to cooling off in the open air, where you feel the outside air, leading you into a calm time that unravels the day’s fatigue.
