Yamagata Yamagata City
A Zao resort wrapped in natural onsen water fed straight from the source and the quiet of the forest
ONSEN & STAY OAKHILL is a B&B-style resort hotel in Yamagata, Yamagata Prefecture. It sits 900 m (about 2,950 ft) up the slopes of the Zao mountains, a place of quiet surrounded by deep greenery. Its pride is milky-white natural onsen water fed straight from the source, never recirculated. The strongly acidic water typical of Zao is called “nature’s beauty serum” and leaves the skin smooth after bathing. The open-air baths offer a rustic rock bath and a hinoki bath with a pleasant scent of wood, where you can soak in the fresh highland breeze. Inside, there is a lobby lounge with a fireplace, a free drink corner and a library of about 1,000 manga. In the early evening a free beer hour is also held for overnight guests only, so each guest can spend the time relaxing as they please.

Here you can savor milky-white natural onsen water fed straight from the source, never recirculated.
