「Wellbe Fukuoka」 - A Visit
🔥 Sauna Room 90℃
❄️ Cold Plunge 5℃
I wake up around 5:30 every morning. After waking up, I take a 30-minute walk in a nearby park. While walking, I think about various things. 'I need some strong stimulation soon,' I felt intensely that day. 'Alright, let's go to Hakata.' I decided on my destination by intuition. Enjoy the city in Nakasu and Tenjin, achieve totonou in a sauna, and maybe visit Dazaifu the next day before returning home. Such a travel plan came together in an instant. Once decided, I departed immediately. After taking a morning shower, I got in my car. From Naruto IC, I drove straight to Okayama via the expressway. Since it was early morning, the expressway was also empty. From Okayama, I took the Shinkansen to Hakata, about 2 hours. Looking at the scenery from the train window while spacing out and reading, I arrived in no time. I enjoyed Hakata ramen for lunch and motsunabe for dinner. I was thoroughly satisfied. However, there's a place I must visit when coming to Hakata. Of course, it's not the red-light district in Nakasu. It's 'Wellbe Fukuoka.'
In conclusion, I was amazed by the coldness of the cold bath. It's 5°C. The coldest cold bath I had experienced before was 8°C at 'Centurion Hotel & Spa Vintage Kobe,' but this far exceeded it. Embarrassingly, I let out gasping sounds. However, other customers (comrades) were also gasping, so I felt relieved. Even though I had sufficiently warmed my body in the sauna, I couldn't stay for even 30 seconds. But my body was chilled to the bone. It was literally freezing. I sat in the rest area chair as if fainting and felt the blood circulation in my body. Before I knew it, I had finished 5 sets. This cold bath is addictive.

The cold bath isn't the only wonderful thing. The sauna is also excellent. There are two Finnish-style saunas in the men's bath. I preferred the 'Forest Sauna.' You can enjoy self-löyly, of course, but since there's a cold bath (around 18°C) inside the sauna, you can cool your body right there when you reach your heat limit. Furthermore, by moving to the 5°C cold bath in a 'cold bath hopping' style, you can complete a two-stage cooldown. This is an experience you can't easily have at other facilities.
