One overnight trip is all you need to have the ultimate sauna getaway — that's something I know from experience. And there's no need to venture far, because Shikoku is home to a wealth of wonderful hot spring and sauna facilities. This time, I visited Golden Time Takamatsu in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture, and Iyadani Onsen Daishi no Yu in Mitoyo City in the same prefecture. Get ready for a look at blazing-hot saunas, a single-digit cold plunge bath, an open-air relaxation area fully exposed to the surrounding buildings, and a supremely relaxing hot spring experience.
