Hokkaido Higashikawa Town

Stay in Asahidake Onsen

An onsen area in the heart of Daisetsuzan National Park, in Higashikawa Town, Kamikawa District, Hokkaido. Inns are scattered across the highlands near the trailhead for Mount Asahidake, Hokkaido’s highest peak, and each inn offers a different bath experience, from crystal-clear water to cloudy water rich in iron. It is a place with wide seasonal contrasts, from alpine plants in summer to Japan’s earliest autumn colors in fall, and dry powder snow in winter.
