An onsen area in Tottori that first opened more than 850 years ago, where radioactive springs boasting one of the world’s highest radon concentrations gush forth. Along the banks of the Mitoku River, there is a naturally flowing open-air bath, and the riverside is lined with three-story wooden inns, creating an atmospheric onsen town. It is a place where the medicinal bathing culture unique to radium springs still lives on today.
