Okunikko Yumoto Onsen

A hot spring resort said to have been first opened in the Nara period, where sulfur springs emerge at the innermost reaches of Nikko National Park. A natural spring bubbles up on the shore of Lake Yunoko, and the originally colorless, clear water takes on a milky-white or greenish hue as it comes into contact with the air. Located on a plateau at an elevation of 1,500 meters, it is also known as a base for excursions to Senjogahara and Yudaki Falls.
