Shizuoka Izu City

Stay in Yugashima Onsen

A mountain onsen town in Izu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, located upstream on the Kano River. It is known for the inn where Yasunari Kawabata wrote “The Izu Dancer,” and many literary figures, including Yasushi Inoue, stayed here. There are not many inns, but some have open-air baths set along the mountain stream, and the area has a quiet atmosphere surrounded by the forests of Amagi. Joren Falls and wasabi fields are nearby, and it serves as the gateway to Amagi Pass.
