One of Hokkaido’s three great onsen resorts, with the best access of any onsen in Japan, just 5 minutes by car from Hakodate Airport. Located along the coast, it offers ocean views of the Tsugaru Strait and spectacular night scenes of squid-fishing boats lit by fishing fires. It pairs especially well with sightseeing in Hakodate, including the night view and gourmet seafood, and the tropical botanical garden’s monkeys soaking in the onsen are also popular with visitors from overseas.
