A spacious indoor bath with abundant hot spring water, set inside a bathing area with a pleasant tatami floor. The oldest natural hot spring in Shinshu, with 1400 years of history since its opening, is a mildly alkaline simple sulfur spring with a pH of 8.9. Its gentle texture leaves the skin soft and moisturized, making it a beautiful-skin bath that even babies can enjoy for their first hot spring experience. Some bathtubs also offer 100% source-water free-flowing bathing, where the naturally luxurious mineral flakes of the hot spring drift through the water, all wrapped in the rich scent of sulfur.

An observation open-air bath with an overwhelming panoramic view over the Bessho Onsen area from the top floor. Only Nakamatsuya Ryokan offers the luxury of being able to view the famous Kitamuki Kannon from the open-air bath. At night, you can fully enjoy a relaxing soak in an exquisite natural hot spring scented with sulfur, while admiring the sparkling starry sky and distant night views, in tubs decorated with Himekawa stone and a bath made of ancient Japanese cypress.
