"Yamada-kan, an inn nestled in Matsukawa Gorge" is a long-established hot spring ryokan in Takayama Village, Kamitakai District, Nagano Prefecture. It is the symbol of Yamada Onsen, known as the inner parlor of Zenkoji-daira, and offers the famous waters with a history of more than 200 years since its opening, enjoyed as kakenagashi from the source. The clear hot spring of sodium-calcium sulfate-chloride spring warms the body from deep within. From every guest room facing Matsukawa Gorge, you can take in sweeping views of the ravine, and the luxurious rooms with private half-open-air baths fed directly from the source, as well as the open-air bath overlooking the spectacular scenery of Matsukawa Gorge, are also major attractions.
