Fujisan Natural Water SPA Sauna Taka no Yu is a sauna-focused facility in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It offers four types of saunas — a dry sauna, a herbal steam sauna, a high-temperature high-humidity sauna, and a barrel sauna with automatic löyly — and multiple cold plunge baths continuously supplied with vanadium-rich Mt. Fuji spring water for a sharp cooldown. The facility also includes a green tea flow-through tea bath and an outdoor Togol onsen (artificial onsen). Conveniently located just minutes by car from the Shin-Fuji interchange on the Shin-Tomei Expressway, it attracts sauna-goers from both inside and outside the prefecture.
An artificial onsen certified by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare that uses Togol natural mineral stone (Togol Warmtite) produced near Tochio-mata onsen in Niigata Prefecture. Inorganic salts leached from the stone dissolve into the bath, producing a colorless, tasteless, odorless water that is gentle on the skin. The bath is set at a lukewarm 41°C to allow long soaks without excessive strain on the body. The mineral components dilate capillaries and promote circulation throughout the body, making this onsen suitable for muscle relaxation and recovery after sauna use. Efficacy is recognized for conditions such as neuralgia, rheumatism, lower back pain, stiff shoulders, and sensitivity to cold.
A lukewarm tea bath using green tea from Satoen, with no fragrances or additives. Enjoy the natural color and aroma of the green tea components. The bath is continuously replenished to keep the water fresh. Expected benefits include antioxidant effects, skin protection, brightening, and improved circulation.
An indoor dry sauna with a distinctive U-shaped seating layout. A gas-fired far-infrared stove emits uniform radiant heat that gently fills the whole room. The presence of a TV creates a relaxed atmosphere suited to longer stays, while the top-tier seat nicknamed Sauna King's Chair offers markedly stronger heat for advanced users. There is also a beginner-friendly position called the Considerate Chair, so users can choose their preferred intensity within the same space.
A herbal steam sauna filled with steam blended from more than 24 kinds of traditional medicinal herbs. The steam is dense enough to whiten the air, and you can feel the herbal components penetrating the skin across your body. Even at modest thermometer readings, humidity reaches over 70 percent, making the perceived temperature exceed 110°C and designating this as an advanced-user area. The compact four-person space fills with scorching steam, delivering an intense thermal pressure from the moment you enter.
A Siberian cedar barrel sauna sits in the outdoor area. An automatic löyly triggers every 12 minutes, delivering a 30-second heat wave into the room and causing the perceived temperature to spike with each cycle. The experience is so fierce it has earned the nickname Death Barrel, and use of a sauna mat is mandatory on entry. The rich aroma unique to Siberian cedar envelops the space, and each incoming heat wave immerses the body in overwhelming intense steam.
An indoor cold plunge bath that uses Fujisan spring water naturally filtered through Mt. Fuji's strata and supplied by continuous flow. The water temperature is stably maintained at 15–16°C year-round, providing the same cooling experience regardless of season. The vanadium-rich water feels soft and familiar on the skin, with an initially sharp cold sensation that gradually transforms into a mellow refreshing feeling.
A cold plunge bath made from a large barrel located beside the barrel sauna, continuously supplied with Fujisan natural water. The barrel bath is spacious and deep, and the layout provides a perfect, direct route to the outdoor cooling and rest area.
A single-person hinoki (Japanese cypress) cold plunge bath in the men's outdoor area. It uses Fujisan spring water supplied by continuous flow, combining the scent of hinoki with vanadium-rich natural water to create a condensed Shizuoka-style cold plunge experience.
