Osaka Osaka City
The definitive authentic sauna of Osaka Minami
Sauna & Capsule Amza is a sauna and capsule hotel located in Sennichimae at the heart of Osaka's Minami district. Its dramatic IKI sauna, dominated by a gigantic IKI stove, features projection mapping and powerful sound synced with automatic löyly and hosts daily aufguss sessions led by an A-Meister certified by the German Sauna Association. The facility offers three types of saunas including a meditative Finnish sauna and a herbal steam sauna, distinctive cool-down options such as a cold ceramic jar bath and a Penguin Room, and a panoramic open-air bath with night views over Osaka Minami.

An original bubbling bath using Shigaraki-yaki ceramic plates kneaded with radium ore. Millions of ultra-fine bubbles emerge from the ceramic surface to envelop the body, helping remove pore impurities while promoting blood circulation and fatigue recovery. The soft, smooth water encourages long soaks and is expected to deliver beautifying effects by addressing pores opened by sauna-induced sweating.

The facility's main sauna features an enormous IKI stove revered as the facility's goshintai positioned at the center of a glass-fronted, open dry sauna. The spacious room accommodates up to 30 people and the stacked sauna stones create an overwhelming presence that promises an otherworldly heat experience. In addition to automatic löyly every 15 minutes, projection mapping visuals and powerful sound effects synchronize with the löyly moments to deliver an entertainment-style sauna experience rarely seen elsewhere in the country.

A Finnish-style sauna where steam rises from water poured onto the sauna stones, producing a mild heat and balanced humidity. The calm temperature settings and the TV-free quiet environment make it ideal for inner dialogue and meditation. Self löyly is available, allowing guests to pour their preferred amount of aromatic water onto the stones for a personal steam experience. The contrast between this tranquil space and the intense löyly events in the IKI sauna is one of Amza's charms.

A visually distinctive steam sauna whose walls and floors are clad in colorful mosaic tiles reminiscent of Gaudí's Park Güell. The seating and wall surfaces radiate heat while high-humidity steam gently warms the body. True to its 'herbal' name, aromatic herbal steam fills the room and promotes whole-body sweating.

A standard cold plunge bath offering a pronounced cooling sensation that can stimulate the autonomic nervous system and aid recovery when alternated with sauna sessions. Ideal when you want to cool the body evenly. The water depth is 60–80 cm, making it easy to fully immerse the body, and it can be combined with the jar bath to freely adjust the intensity of your cool-down.

A single-person jar bath made of Shigaraki-yaki pottery. This private cool-down zone provides the lowest temperatures at Amza for seasoned sauna users. Submerging your whole body inside the jar produces an intense, enclosed cooling sensation that is on another level from regular cold plunge baths. At around 14°C, entering immediately after the extreme heat of the IKI sauna can lead to a dramatic totonou.

A large circulating current pool that allows circulation between indoor and outdoor areas. With a water temperature of about 24–25°C, it is useful when you want to gradually normalize body temperature after sauna heat. Modeled on a Finnish lake dive as a stepwise cooling process, it also works well as a follow-up after the intense cold jar bath to provide comfortable recovery. The water depth is 80–110 cm, allowing treading water or enjoying buoyancy while resting.
