About Takamatsu Pokapoka Onsen

Takamatsu Pokapoka Onsen is a day-use hot spring facility in Takamatsu City, Kagawa Prefecture. It features 11 indoor and outdoor baths, including a source-fed rock bath using a strongly saline iodine-containing sodium chloride spring pumped from 1,400 m underground and the facility's most popular high-concentration artificial carbonated bath. Two types of saunas—a six-tier far-infrared tower sauna and a salt sauna—offer automatic löyly every hour. You can choose between two cold plunge baths, an ultra cold plunge and a vibra cold plunge, for different totonou experiences. The five-room bedrock spa STONE SPA SUOMI offers a sea-of-clouds löyly bedrock bathing experience.

Source Rock Bath

An open-air rock bath fed by a strongly saline iodine-containing sodium chloride spring known as a "beauty water." Its high salt concentration gives the water a slick texture and strong moisturizing effects that leave skin feeling smooth after bathing. The water's properties help retain heat so you warm deeply and cool down less easily. A faint salty scent and the slightly viscous feel of the spring water are pleasant.

High-Concentration Artificial Carbonated Bath

The facility's most popular main bath. It contains more than 1,000 ppm of dissolved carbon dioxide, offering a fizzy bathing sensation. Known in Europe as a "bath for the heart," this mildly acidic water is expected to promote circulation and help with cold sensitivity and swelling. Carbon dioxide absorbed through the skin activates circulation throughout the body, leaving you feeling warm even after you get out.

High-Concentration Artificial Carbonated Bath

Hinata Bath

An outdoor bath for neutral-temperature bathing where you soak in water close to body temperature. Unlike typical lukewarm baths, it places less strain on the body, allowing long soaks without getting tired. You can spend a relaxing time chatting while watching the large TV or quietly enjoying the view.

Far-Infrared Sauna

The facility's main sauna. It is a tower-style layout with six tiers for men and five for women, with temperature increasing toward the upper levels so you can choose the position that suits you. Relax and sweat while watching TV, and at every hour on the hour an automatic löyly is released, rapidly raising humidity and perceived temperature.

Salt Sauna

A salt sauna where applying an appropriate amount of salt to the skin helps draw out sebum from pores, offering potential beautifying and detox effects. Ten seats line the interior, providing a relaxed space. Bathing beforehand helps the salt dissolve more easily and enhances the effects. An automatic löyly is also available for a thorough sweat.

Ultra Cold Plunge Bath

A low-temperature cold plunge bath that serves as the facility's main differentiator. It is deep enough to submerge your shoulders fully, providing a pleasant sensation of rapid whole-body cooling. Located close to the far-infrared sauna, it is ideal for cooling down immediately after automatic löyly. The water temperature is kept constant so you can quickly relieve body heat.

Ultra Cold Plunge Bath

Cold Plunge Bath (Vibra)

A mid-temperature cold plunge bath equipped with vibra bubble jets. It is gentler on the body than the ultra cold plunge, making it ideal for beginners or those who prefer a warmer cold bath. Many regulars enjoy alternating between the ultra cold plunge, the vibra bath, and an outdoor air cool-down as part of contrast bathing.
