About Tenko no Yu

"Tenko no Yu" is a day-use bathing facility in Tajimi City, Gifu Prefecture. It offers a rare natural radon spring found only in a handful of places nationwide, and the indoor baths feature a unique experience called "breathing bath," filled with radon steam. The men's baths and women's baths each have 3 kinds of löyly sauna, plus 3 kinds of cold plunge baths, making for a very well-equipped sauna experience. The outdoor relaxation area, "Gokuraku Jodo," offers a spacious, open layout with about 50 seats in the men's bath alone, and the weekly heat-wave events are always popular. The natural monument Sanba stone open-air bath and the tile interiors unique to Tajimi, a city of ceramics, create a refined space where you'll want to spend the whole day relaxing.

Hot SpringONSEN

Open-air, flow-through spring bath

A flow-through spring bath installed in the open-air area for both men and women. Natural radon spring water is poured directly into the tub without circulation, allowing you to enjoy the original freshness and components of the source to the fullest. Along with the "breathing bath" effect of the radon spring, the fresh feel of flow-through water surrounds the body. While looking out over the Sanba stone garden, you can enjoy a luxurious moment that doesn't feel like a day-use hot spring at all.

Open-air, flow-through spring bath

A flow-through spring bath installed in the open-air area for both men and women. Natural radon spring water is poured directly into the tub without circulation, allowing you to enjoy the original freshness and components of the source to the fullest. Along with the "breathing bath" effect of the radon spring, the fresh feel of flow-through water surrounds the body. While looking out over the Sanba stone garden, you can enjoy a luxurious moment that doesn't feel like a day-use hot spring at all.

High-concentration carbonated spring

A carbonated spring that uses a medical artificial carbonated spring system and consistently maintains a high concentration of over 1,200 ppm. It uses natural radon spring water, so you can expect the combined effects of carbon dioxide and radon. After soaking for a while, if you stroke your body, you can enjoy the sight of ultra-fine bubbles that had covered your entire body rising briskly to the water's surface. These invisible fine bubbles coat the skin and help promote blood circulation, beauty, and fatigue recovery.

High-concentration carbonated spring

A carbonated spring that uses a medical artificial carbonated spring system and consistently maintains a high concentration of over 1,200 ppm. The carefully maintained 55% humidity creates a comfortable high-humidity environment without dryness. In addition to automatic löyly every hour on the hour and at 30 minutes past the hour, aufguss events by heat-wave performers are held every weekend. With a TV inside, it's easy to stay for a long time.

Löyly sauna

An auto-löyly sauna using a METOS isness heater combined with kouka stone. Hitachi cypress from Yatsugamine Mountain, said to be among the northernmost cypress-growing areas in Japan, has an exceptionally strong aroma, and the moment you step inside the sauna room, the rich cypress fragrance surrounds your whole body. The curved shape unique to barrel saunas improves heat circulation efficiency, allowing steam from self-löyly to circulate to every corner. An indoor cold plunge bath known for its intense chill, with water temperatures in the single digits Celsius. It uses underground natural water, delivering a blade-like cold sensation that cuts through your whole body in an instant. The water depth is 40 to 60 cm, deep enough to submerge the entire body. With easy access to a spacious outdoor relaxation area, the flow from sharp cold to deep relaxation is well designed.

Gurushin cold plunge bath

An indoor cold plunge bath known for its intense chill, with water temperatures in the single digits Celsius. It uses underground natural water, delivering a blade-like cold sensation that cuts through your whole body in an instant. The water depth is 40 to 60 cm, deep enough to submerge the entire body. A lakeside-style outdoor cold bath adjacent to the outdoor barrel sauna. It offers a one-of-a-kind experience of lying on your back and entrusting your whole body to the cold water while looking up at the sky and cooling down. The water temperature is set somewhat higher, making it suitable for those who want to lower their body temperature slowly over time. By receiving the coolness of both the open air and the water while lying outdoors, it creates a unique relaxation effect. Access to the outdoor relaxation space with the garden as a backdrop is also nearby.
