About Nagaragawa Seiryu Hotel

"Nagaragawa Seiryu Hotel" is a lifestyle hotel in Gifu City, Gifu Prefecture. From the panoramic public bath on the top floor, guests can enjoy beautiful views of the majestic Nagara River and Mount Kinka, and the natural hot spring water of Ikeda Yuge Onsen, delivered directly from Ibi District, known as the "beauty bath." The sauna is a "tea sauna" with Ibi tea leaves suspended inside the room, and self-löyly with fresh tea releases a rich fragrance throughout the space. A crisp, cold cold plunge bath and a prime resting seat overlooking the Nagara River and Gifu Castle let guests fully enjoy an exquisite totonou experience.

Hot SpringONSEN

Ikeda Yuge Onsen

This public bath uses transported hot spring water from Ikeda Yuge Onsen, delivered directly from Ibi District, Gifu Prefecture. As a sodium bicarbonate spring (baking soda spring), it is highly regarded as a beauty bath because it gently washes away excess oil and secretions, leaving the skin smooth. Through the window, guests can take in views of Gifu Castle atop Mount Kinka and the majestic clear flow of the Nagara River, enjoying a luxurious hot spring bath while admiring the breathtaking scenery.

A compact dry sauna adjoining the public bath. Tea leaf powder from Ibi, once discarded by tea wholesalers, is suspended inside the sauna room, creating a luxurious space wrapped in the rich aroma of Mino Ibi tea. Self-löyly using fresh tea is available, and as the heat rises, the fragrant scent of tea spreads through the room, encouraging a pleasant, deep sweat. Combined with the relaxing effect of tea, you can enjoy a blissful steam bath.

A cold plunge bath located right next to the tea sauna. Its clear water, with a sharply refreshing coldness, smoothly cools down your body after the sauna. Because the water quality is excellent and gentle on the skin, it feels so comfortable that you can stay in it for a long time while enjoying the cooling sensation. The flow from the sauna is excellent as well, leading efficiently and comfortably to a satisfying totonou state.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
