About Yamanashi Tomareru Onsen Yorimichi no Yu
Set right in front of Tsurushi Station on the Fujikyu line, Yamanashi Tomareru Onsen Yorimichi no Yu is a spa for longer stays that brings lodging, onsen and sauna together. An automatic löyly sauna drives the heat in all at once, and a cold plunge fed with a constant flow of source water mixed with groundwater cools you right to the core. The water has the softness of a sulfate spring and leaves the skin smooth and moist. In the space for cooling off in the open air your breathing deepens, and the place works as an inn for totonou, the deep, settled calm after sauna, where you can reset your senses partway through a journey.

Yorimichi no Yu
The spring is a sodium-calcium sulfate spring (hypotonic, alkaline, low-temperature). The 32.9°C (91.2°F) source water is heated and fed straight into the rock bath and other baths. The moisture-retaining quality of the sulfate water combines with the soft feel of the alkaline water, leaving skin smooth and moisturized after bathing.

Iznes (far-infrared sauna)
The signature sauna here. A far-infrared sauna built around an iznes stove from Finland, it runs automatic löyly at :00 and :30 every hour. Staff also hold löyly sessions with waves of heat, where professional fanning sends the felt temperature soaring in an instant, for a genuine aufguss experience.
Yorimichi no Kama
A mist sauna that recreates Japan’s age-old kama-buro, a kiln-shaped steam bath, in a modern style. Steam pours out constantly, wrapping you in a dreamlike space as if you were inside a thick fog. The temperature is set very high for a mist sauna, overturning the received wisdom that a mist sauna rarely brings on totonou, and it delivers a proper sense of totonou.

Yorimichi no Reisui
A cold plunge found in few other places in Japan, mixing water from a natural onsen source with natural groundwater. With no chiller at all, the water flows straight in at the temperature at which it is drawn up, making it soft and gentle on the skin. Regulars rate it highly, saying they could stay in forever, and the smooth, slippery feel that comes from the spring water is a pleasure. Soaking in it after the sauna makes the pores tighten, and its skin-beautifying effect is all the greater.

A well-appointed area with three kinds of warm-stone rooms using a variety of natural stones such as Sakurajima lava, amethyst and bakuhanseki (maifan stone), plus a cooling room lit dreamily by a giant rock-salt lamp. Soft heat from the stones envelops the whole body, and sweating slowly encourages detox of body and mind and deep relaxation. On weekends, löyly sessions with waves of heat are held too, with aroma water crackling on the stones, for a refreshing sweat. There is also a terrace just for the warm-stone rooms for cooling off in the open air, where you can let the outdoor breeze gently cool your flushed body and spend a blissful time at rest.

- From Kofu (Chuo Expressway → at Otsuki Junction, head toward Kawaguchiko → Tsuru Interchange)
- About 2 minutes from Tsuru Interchange (turn left out of the tollgate → turn right at the first traffic light; it is 100 m (330 ft) ahead on the right)
