About Yudenkan

"Gensen Kakenagashi no Yu Yudenkan" is a celebrated day-use hot spring facility in Chuo City, Yamanashi Prefecture, widely loved by sauners and onsen enthusiasts alike. The hot spring is a vivid amber-colored sodium bicarbonate-chloride spring that wells up from 1,000 m underground. It is strictly operated as a complete 100% natural-flow hot spring, with no heating, cooling, added water, or circulation filtration, allowing guests to experience the true freshness of the water in the indoor high-temperature bath, bubble bath, and mildly warm open-air bath. The sauna is equipped with a rare bona sauna that gently delivers heat from beneath the bench. Its highly frequent automatic löyly system creates an exceptionally humid environment, promoting astonishingly heavy sweating from deep within the body. In addition, the two-tier cold plunge bath with 100% soft, gentle natural groundwater flowing through it, featuring a deep cold basin and a shallower warm basin, along with the perfect outdoor bathing flow on the wooden deck where you can lie down and relax, is flawless in every way.

A superb sodium bicarbonate-chloride spring with a beautiful amber color, similar to a moll spring, that naturally gushes from 1,000 m underground. It is a hypotonic, neutral, high-temperature spring. No added water, heating, circulation filtration, or disinfection is applied, and 220 liters per minute of freshly emerged source water are poured directly into the baths. The bath temperature is adjusted solely by the amount of source water fed in, a luxurious approach that lets you fully enjoy the astonishing freshness of this famous spring in the indoor high-temperature bath, bubble bath, and mildly warm open-air bath.

A full-fledged bona sauna, a rare setup nationwide, with the heat source heater housed beneath the bench seats. It is equipped with automatic water supply to the sauna stones at regular intervals, delivering automatic löyly. Even at a room temperature of around 85°C, it maintains extremely high humidity. Without causing strain or breathlessness, it wraps your whole body in gentle, superb steamy heat and brings on astonishingly refreshing, large-volume sweating in a short time.

A cold plunge bath highly praised by sauners, lavishly filled 100% with superb natural groundwater gushing from Yamanashi's rich land. It has a unique two-tier design, with a deeply cold basin on the upper level at around 15–17°C and a slightly milder shallow basin on the lower level where you can even lie down. Its hallmark is the astonishingly smooth and gentle feel unique to natural water, soothing the body after the sauna from the depths of your being.

[Hours] 10:00–23:00. Closed on the third Tuesday of every month (if it falls on a public holiday, the facility will be open, and it may be closed the following day. Please confirm in advance). The admission fee includes rental of a face towel, bath towel, and in-facility wear (yukata), so you can visit empty-handed.
