About Ojironoyu

Ojironoyu is a day-use hot spring facility located inside Hakushu-Ojironomori Meisui Park Beruga in Hokuto City, Yamanashi Prefecture. The men's bath has a dry sauna, and the women's bath has a mist sauna. After the sauna, you can cool down in a natural water bath filled with spring water from the Southern Alps. Its greatest appeal is the ultra-concentrated sodium-chloride strong saline hot spring, rich in minerals. There are two open-air baths: the source-fed rotenburo "Akanoyu," which turns reddish-brown when exposed to the air, and "Shiroyu," which is diluted with natural water. Here, you can refresh both body and mind while taking in the air of nature.

Hot SpringONSEN

Free-flow from source

Akanoyu (Open-Air Source Bath)

A source-fed open-air bath that uses sodium-chloride strong saline hot spring water drawn directly from deep underground. It contains an extremely high level of mineral components and is notable for changing to a reddish-brown color when exposed to the air. The salt coats the skin and helps retain heat, so the warmth continues long after you get out of the bath. In a spacious setting overlooking Yatsugatake and Kaikoma-dake, you can soak while feeling the breath of nature.

Shiroyu (Diluted Open-Air Bath)

An open-air bath made by diluting the rich spring water with natural water from the Southern Alps at a ratio of 1:9. Even when diluted, it still boasts a mineral concentration equal to or higher than that of a typical hot spring. The texture is milder than Akanoyu, making it suitable for longer bathing sessions. The temperature is set slightly higher, allowing you to warm your body thoroughly.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
