"Hotel Morita, a health and seasonal cuisine inn" is a long-established ryokan in Shimobe Onsen in Minobu Town, Yamanashi Prefecture, with a history of over 100 years. Its greatest appeal is the chance to enjoy this famous hot spring, known as one of Takeda Shingen's hidden baths, through alternating soaks in continuously flowing source spring water at both lukewarm and hot temperatures. The large bath area includes a sauna heated with medicinal stones and a walking bath, and after the sauna you can gently cool down in a continuously flowing source spring cold plunge bath (pot bath). With a variety of bathing facilities, including free private baths with natural hot spring water and a rooftop open-air bath overlooking nature, you can relax both body and mind.

A natural hot spring fed by the source spring water of Shimobe Onsen, famous as one of Takeda Shingen's hidden baths. It is an alkaline simple hot spring that is gentle on the skin and has little刺激, and the water is so fresh and high quality that it can even be drunk as it is. There are baths with continuously flowing source spring water at a lukewarm temperature close to body temperature and heated hot baths, and alternating between them delivers a strong synergistic effect and deep relaxation. The water has an exceptionally soft feel and is easy on the body even during long baths.

Walking Bath

A walking-bath area with large pebbles laid across the floor. By walking through the water while stimulating the pressure points on the soles of your feet, it promotes circulation throughout the body and helps maintain good health. It is a facility that can be incorporated as gentle exercise between sauna sessions and natural hot spring baths.

Medicinal Stone Sauna

A dry-style sauna that heats medicinal stones such as tourmaline. The heat radiating from the stones and its perspiration-promoting effect warm you thoroughly from the core and let you work up a pleasant sweat. It uses a bon sauna structure with no visible heat source, so you can spend a relaxing, quiet time with no TV, unwinding at your own pace and reflecting calmly.

A pot-bath-style cold plunge bath installed right next to the sauna. The temperature is set to a mild level that is not too cold, so even those who do not like chilly cold plunge baths can comfortably immerse themselves up to the shoulders. Shimobe Onsen source spring water is used in continuous flow, giving it a soft, smooth feel on the skin. It gently eases the sauna heat and provides a pleasant cooling-down experience.
