About Iwami no Yu Asahi Onsen Kakurega Yukari

"Iwami no Yu Asahi Onsen Kakurega Yukari" is a hot spring inn with 15 rooms, nestled in Asahi Town, Hamada City, Shimane Prefecture. It reopened in April 2024, and you can enjoy the renowned "beauty bath" of Asahi Onsen, which was ranked first nationwide for two consecutive years in the Historical and Cultural category of the Onsen General Election, in the large bath, open-air bath, and open-air baths in the guest rooms. Its alkaline simple spring with a pH of 8.5 is smooth and gentle, leaving the skin feeling soft and refined. There is also a mist sauna and a cold plunge bath, available at a leisurely pace exclusively for overnight guests. Guests can savor kaiseki cuisine made with seafood from the Sea of Japan and Shimane Wagyu, served in their rooms, making this a quiet hidden retreat.

Hot SpringONSEN

Asahi Onsen

Asahi Onsen, the proud "beauty bath," was ranked No. 1 nationwide for two consecutive years in the Historical and Cultural category of the Onsen General Election. This alkaline simple hot spring has a source temperature of 31°C, so it is heated to 41.5–42°C for use. The first-floor large bath uses circulation filtration with sterilization, while the second-floor open-air baths in the guest rooms are free-flowing spring water with heating only. The smooth, silky bathwater wraps around the skin, leaving it soft and moisturized after bathing. A famous spring flowing quietly in a mountain village, said to be beneficial for neuralgia, muscle pain, sensitivity to cold, and fatigue recovery.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
