An extreme sauna exceeding 110°C, wrapped in natural spring water from Kuraiyama

Gifu Takayama City

"LiveMax Resort Hida Takayama ~Garyu no Sato~" is an onsen inn about a 15-minute drive from the center of Takayama City. With the sauna renewal in March 2026, the room temperature has been dramatically upgraded to an astonishing approximately 110°C. The extreme setup, where intense heat pierces through the body, has become a hot topic among sauna enthusiasts. The cold plunge bath uses natural spring water drawn directly from Kuraiyama, a mountain long revered as a sacred peak. Clear and mellow enough to be drinkable, the water gently yet powerfully envelops the skin after sauna use. Outdoor bathing in the open-air area, surrounded by the stillness of the forest, is another exceptional source of relaxation.
