About Spa House Kawamura
Spa House Kawamura is a natural onsen bathhouse in Misawa, Aomori Prefecture. Its hypotonic alkaline simple spring, mild and gentle on the skin, is a luxury here: fed straight from the source, never recirculated. The baths include a lukewarm nuru-yu and a hot atsu-yu at different temperatures, plus a za-yu where you can sit and relax, and the women’s bath also has an open-air bath of its own. The men’s bath has a dry sauna with löyly you pour yourself, and paired with a crisp, cold plunge continuously fed with groundwater, it makes for a bracing, refreshing break. A refined place to unwind that thoroughly eases the fatigue of daily life.

Here you can enjoy a hypotonic alkaline simple spring, mild and gentle on the skin, fed straight from the source, never recirculated. The baths include a lukewarm nuru-yu and a hot atsu-yu at different temperatures, plus a za-yu where you can sit back and relax. The fresh water warms the body to the core and brings deep comfort. The women’s bath also has an open-air bath of its own, where you can bathe at ease in the open air.

The dry sauna, for the men’s bath only, is a true sauna built around a stove made in Sweden, in the sauna’s Nordic homeland. Pour water by your own hand over the heated sauna stones, and pleasant steam and powerful heat instantly fill the room. The warmth seeps in slowly and deeply, the day’s fatigue flows away with your sweat, and you can lose yourself in a deeply immersive sauna experience.

Cold plunge
A crisp, refreshing cold plunge that cools a flushed body all at once. All the water in the bathing area is high-quality, tested groundwater, and the cold plunge too is generously fed with a constant flow. Fresh water always spills over the edge, and as you give yourself to its pleasant chill, kept at 10–15°C (50–59°F), you are led smoothly into deep relaxation.
