"Sukayu Onsen Ryokan" is a historic hot spring inn nestled in the Hakkoda mountain range of Aomori City, Aomori Prefecture. Designated in 1954 as Japan's first National Hot Spring Resort, it is one of the country's most celebrated hot springs. It features a vast mixed-gender public bath built entirely of Japanese hemlock, along with separate indoor baths for men and women. Five private springs on the property are served as luxurious free-flowing natural hot spring water without any heating or dilution. The milky, highly acidic sulfur spring is known for its powerful benefits and has been soothing countless visitors for more than 300 years. Four private springs with different temperatures and textures flow into the bath, all enjoyed as luxurious free-flowing natural hot spring water with no heating or dilution. The water is a milky, strongly acidic sulfur spring that warms you to the core and offers an extraordinary bathing experience that helps you forget everyday life. It is mixed-gender, with women-only hours and bathing wear available.

A spacious indoor bath built entirely of Japanese hemlock, set up separately for men and women. It uses a different private spring from the large public bath, allowing guests to enjoy fresh milky acidic sulfur spring water as free-flowing natural hot spring water with no dilution or heating. Shower and faucet washing stations are fully equipped, so you can wash comfortably and enjoy this famous hot spring in a calm environment. The acidic water gently envelopes the skin, is excellent for relieving chills and fatigue, and lets you fully appreciate the quality of the water.
