About Fukuzumi no Yu
Fukuzumi no Yu is an onsen bathhouse in Fukiage, Hioki City. Its sauna is a compact dry sauna whose far-infrared heat lets you work up a slow, steady sweat. Afterwards, cool down in the chiller-cooled, ice-cold plunge. The water is an alkaline simple sulfur spring with a pleasant scent of sulfur, and mineral flakes drift through it: water of the very finest quality. Cooling off in the open air at the open-air bath, surrounded by greenery, is pure bliss.

An alkaline simple sulfur spring with the scent of sulfur and a pleasant fragrance almost like aromatherapy oils. The indoor bath is faintly yellow-green, while the open-air bath may be clear green or milky white; its color changes from day to day with the amount of mineral flakes. Enjoy fresh water fed straight from the source, never recirculated, to your heart’s content.

A compact dry sauna heated by a far-infrared gas stove. The room is quiet, with no TV, and you can sweat slowly at your own pace while watching a 15-minute sand timer.

Cold Bath
A compact cold plunge for two, right beside the sauna room. It is properly deep: sitting down, the water comes up to about your chin. After the sauna, the cold pulls the body taut.
