"Amami Onsen Yamato Hananah Beach Resort" is a scenic hot spring complex that opened in Yamato Village, Kagoshima Prefecture. You can enjoy Amami Oshima's only authentic natural hot spring, "Nyuchigwaho no Yu," which flows from 1,600 m underground, in an infinity open-air bath overlooking the East China Sea. The resort also features gender-separated scenic auto-löyly saunas, an outdoor wood-fired sauna where you can enjoy the experience in swimwear, a cold plunge bath with natural underground water, and an entirely new extreme experience where you dive into the valley pool via a slider. In addition, there is a private hot spring in a single-rental cottage and a glamping facility. It offers the ultimate refresh stay, where you can become one with the untouched natural beauty of the southern islands and free your body and mind.
Hot SpringONSEN
Large bath (indoor bath, infinity open-air bath)
A weakly alkaline simple hot spring flowing up from deep underground. It has a faint sulfur aroma and a soft texture, with a well-balanced blend of chloride and metasilicic acid, making it a skin-beautifying hot spring. The indoor bath is generously supplied with water from the resort's own source, and the infinity bath in the open air offers an overwhelming sense of openness, as if the horizon and the water's surface were melting into one. You can immerse yourself in the finest relaxation while gazing at the spectacular sea view, which changes its appearance depending on the time of day.
Private natural hot spring family bath
A private natural hot spring family bath built like a cottage, independent from the hot spring building. It has a dedicated terrace where you can enjoy outdoor bathing while looking out at the sea, as well as a raised tatami-floored area, so you can relax at your own pace without worrying about those around you. It is fully barrier-free and wheelchair accessible. "Rurikakesu" also comes with a private barrel sauna and cold plunge bath, allowing you and your loved ones to enjoy a special bathing experience all to yourselves.

Auto-löyly sauna
An authentic Finnish-style sauna installed in the gender-separated large baths. It uses sauna stones called Kokaishi and creates waves of heat and abundant steam through auto-löyly. Its signature feature is a large window facing the sea, allowing you to relax and work up a sweat while taking in the spectacular view of the East China Sea. Its appeal lies in the mild, pleasant heat that warms you right down to your core.

Luxuriously fed by natural underground water full of vitality, nurtured by a subtropical forest, and used as a free-flowing source. The water temperature remains stable throughout the year, and its soft water quality makes for a comfortable cooldown. There is also an outdoor relaxation area with direct access from the indoor bath, available exclusively for women, where you can lie back on a sun lounger and enjoy blissful totonou while feeling the sea and mountain breeze.

Outdoor sauna "Kawasemi Sauna"
A mixed-gender sauna in the outdoor area, to be used in swimwear. It uses an original wood stove fired by locally sourced wood, and you can enjoy self-löyly while watching the flames flicker. After leaving the sauna, you can wash off the sweat with the on-site shower, then enjoy an extreme experience by diving into the pool via the nearby cold plunge bath or the slider.
Barrel sauna (inside the private bath Rurikakesu)
A private barrel sauna attached to the standalone natural hot spring cottage "Rurikakesu." It uses an electric stove made by Finland's MISA, letting you experience soft mist and a pleasant circulation of heat through self-löyly. The benches face each other and have different heights, so you can choose your preferred temperature zone, and fine adjustments are also possible through ventilation from the slit windows.

Outdoor cold plunge bath and pool
A cold plunge bath in the swimwear area adjacent to the outdoor sauna "Kawasemi Sauna." You can rapidly cool down your body, warmed to the limit in the sauna, while taking a deep breath of the great outdoors. After cooling off in the cold plunge bath, you can rest on the observation space on the sauna rooftop or on the Adirondack chairs lined up by the poolside, and enjoy a superb time of relaxation enveloped by Amami's clear skies and the rustling of the trees.
