About The Pulse Kirishima

The Pulse Kirishima is a resort hotel in Kirishima, Kagoshima Prefecture. It draws its water from the Kirishima Jingu onsen area and makes for a stay that pairs play with bathing. The main bathhouse, Ganjo-no-Yu, is a bright, open space that also holds a hinoki bath. Step outside and an open-air bath awaits, filled with natural onsen water fed straight from the source, never recirculated, where you can give yourself over to the water while gazing at the sweeping ridgelines of the Kirishima mountains. There is also a sauna and a cold plunge, so you can work up a sweat and then let the cold pull the body taut as you alternate between hot and cold. Four semi-open-air private baths offer a place to unwind in privacy; each has its own theme, with the shape and material of the tub and even the greenery of its courtyard designed individually. After bathing, you can cool down in a lounge with tatami over a cup of Kirishima tea. With an outdoor pool, tennis courts and a rooftop terrace for stargazing, there is more here than a single day can hold.

Sauna & Cold BathSAUNA & COLD BATH

Sauna

A classic dry sauna attached to the main bathhouse. After warming the body in the onsen, you sweat slowly in a quiet sauna room where the heat holds well. Once the deep sweat has you flushed, the cold plunge right beside it pulls the body taut and leads into a pleasant cool-down. Carry that afterglow outside and time cooling off in the open air awaits, wrapped in the clear air of the Kirishima mountains. From heat to cold to rest, each stage flows seamlessly into the next.
