Alternating hot and cold bathing in a garden grand bath with four spring qualities and an overwhelming scale

Kagoshima Kirishima City

The Iodani Garden Grand Bath is a signature hot spring facility inside Kirishima Hotel in Makizonocho, Kirishima City. It receives an overwhelming volume of about 14 million liters a day from 14 springs, allowing guests to enjoy four different spring qualities at once: sulfur spring, alum spring, saline spring, and iron spring. The grand bath is divided into a women- and men-only dedicated zone, Otonoyu and Himenoyu, as well as a spacious mixed-gender free zone, with women-only hours at night. The men’s and women’s baths each come with a far-infrared sauna and a cold plunge bath fed with natural Kirishima spring water. By combining the sauna with alternating hot and cold bathing across the various hot spring waters, you can enjoy an exceptional therapeutic bathing experience.
