About Ryokojin Sanso

"Ryokojin Sanso" is a long-established inn in Kirishima Onsen, located in Kirishima City, Kagoshima Prefecture. Set on a hill at an elevation of 700 m and surrounded by vast natural forest, it boasts an excellent location with views of Sakurajima and Kagoshima Bay. It has two private spring sources: a naturally bubbling simple spring discovered in the second year of the Bunsei era, and a sulfur spring with the fragrance of hot-spring minerals. In the indoor bath of the large public bath, you can enjoy the simple spring, while the open-air bath uses the sulfur spring, both with free-flowing water directly from the source. In the private open-air baths scattered throughout the forest, you can spend a quiet moment and may even encounter wild deer.

Simple Spring

A historic natural bubbling simple spring, discovered in the second year of the Bunsei era, used here with luxurious free-flowing water. Colorless and clear, it has a gentle texture that is mild on the skin and easy to enjoy. Drinking is also allowed, so you can feel the blessings of the hot spring from within your body as well. In the spacious indoor bath, you can take your time and enjoy a long soak while looking out at the Kirishima nature spread beyond the windows.

Sulfur Spring

An open-air bath where you can enjoy a fragrant sulfur spring with drifting hot-spring minerals, served with free-flowing water. From the open, spacious tub, you can take in a sweeping view of Sakurajima and Kagoshima Bay on a clear day. While feeling Kirishima’s fresh air, you can fully appreciate the excellent warming effect and skin-beautifying qualities unique to sulfur springs in this blissful open-air bathing experience.
