"Sanso Kannawaen" is a ryokan with natural free-flowing hot spring water, nestled in the Kannawa onsen district of Beppu City, Oita Prefecture. The blue chloride spring water contains iron and leaves the skin feeling moisturized even after bathing. The large public bath has no sauna, but guests can relax in the open-air bath, indoor bath, bedrock bath, and steam bath. Every room has its own private open-air bath with natural free-flowing hot spring water, and the special Guest Hanare and detached rooms also offer a dry sauna. It is an inn where you can fully enjoy the blessings of the spring in the quiet atmosphere of Kannawa.

Bath

The chloride spring water that bubbles up from Kannawa's source is 100% natural free-flowing hot spring water in the large public bath and in the private open-air bath of every guest room. No added water, no heating, no circulation. The blue, iron-rich water leaves the skin feeling smooth and moisturized, and is believed to help with neuralgia, muscle pain, poor circulation, and more. The large public bath also features an indoor bath, an open-air bath, a bedrock bath, and a steam bath.
