About Okuhita Onsen Umehihiki
"Okuhita Onsen Umehihiki" is a luxury hot spring ryokan in Oyama Town, Hita City, Oita Prefecture. The large bath overlooking the spectacular Hihyo Gorge is equipped with saunas of different styles and a cold plunge bath using groundwater from Suigo Hita. In addition, the private sauna lounge "Benizuru," reserved exclusively for overnight guests, offers a private space where you can enjoy self-löyly and music while pursuing the ultimate in relaxation. After warming up in the hot spring and cooling down in the clear groundwater, take a bath in the open air on the terrace overlooking the gorge. Hot SpringONSEN
Large bath
A spectacular natural hot spring with a panoramic view of Hihyo Gorge. It is equipped with a spacious indoor bath, an open-air bath, and a comfortable reclining bath, letting you enjoy bathing while admiring the mystical scenery wrapped in morning mist and the magical sky at dusk. You can spend a blissful time feeling the breath of nature as your physical and mental fatigue is washed away.
Private bath
A private hot spring bath reserved for overnight guests only. Three tubs with different styles are available: hinoki, rock, and stone, so you can choose according to your preference. Without worrying about the eyes of others, you can relax and enjoy the famous spring water together with someone special while feeling the nature of Hihyo Gorge.
Open-air bath in the guest room
A private open-air bath in the guest room, available in detached rooms and Japanese-Western style rooms. You can enjoy bathing as often as you like, whenever you want, while having the magnificent view of Hihyo Gorge all to yourself. Sauna Lounge Benizuru
In the private sauna reserved exclusively for overnight guests, adjust the humidity to your preference with self-löyly and surrender yourself to blissful time while playing your favorite music via Bluetooth. Your overheated body then moves on to a private cold plunge bath using clear groundwater from Suigo Hita. The soft, gentle water leads you into a cool-down at your own pace, and on the private terrace overlooking Hihyo Gorge, you can enjoy a totonou experience that makes you feel at one with nature.
Hot Stone SpaHOT STONE SPA
Active stone bath and bedrock bath
You can enjoy an "active stone bath," which uses ceramic balls made by crushing mineral-rich ore, and a newly installed chair-style bedrock bath in the large bath "Ryokuhō." The active stone bath is kept at a moderate temperature and humidity that makes it easy to breathe, and the effects of far-infrared rays and negative ions bring beads of sweat pouring out from head to toe. While gazing at the spectacular Hihyo Gorge, you can enjoy detoxing to your heart's content.
