About Seifuso Awara Onsen

"Seifuso Awara Onsen" is a long-established hot spring ryokan founded in the Meiji era, located in Awara City, Fukui Prefecture. It offers luxurious access to the renowned waters of Awara Onsen, drawn from its own private spring on the premises, and features the wind-inspired hot spring village of Jugaku. The water is a sodium-calcium chloride spring. Because the salt left on the skin after bathing helps prevent sweat from evaporating, it is known for its outstanding heat-retaining effect and is also called the hot bath. With an astonishingly gentle feel that is kind to the body, this onsen softly eases everyday fatigue and tension, while leaving you with lasting moisture and a comforting warmth even after you get out.

Hot SpringONSEN

Bath

Awara Onsen, a famous hot spring that first opened in the Meiji era, was once widely known throughout Japan as Jugaku Onsen and was deeply loved by the poet Akiko Yosano. At Seifuso, abundant natural hot spring water gushing constantly from the private source on the premises is used lavishly. The water is classified as a sodium-calcium chloride spring (weak alkaline, hypotonic, high-temperature spring). Because the salt that clings to the skin after bathing helps prevent sweat from evaporating, it is prized for its outstanding heat-retaining effect and is also known as the hot bath. The astonishingly soft, body-friendly water gently warms the whole body from deep within, relieves muscle tension, and eases daily fatigue. One of its major attractions is that the moisture and comforting warmth continue for a long time after you get out.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
