AwaraOnsenSeifuso

A famed hot spring enjoyed for its rich chloride spring from its own source, beloved by the poet Akiko Yosano

Fukui Awara City

"Awara Onsen Seifuso" is a long-established onsen ryokan founded in the Meiji era in Awara City, Fukui Prefecture. It features Juraku, a wind-themed onsen village, filled with the famed waters of Awara Onsen drawn from its own hot spring source on the property. Its spring quality is sodium-calcium chloride spring. Because the salt left on the skin after bathing helps prevent sweat from evaporating, it offers outstanding heat retention and is also known as the hot spring of heat. With an astonishingly soft texture that is gentle on the body, this onsen slowly relieves daily fatigue and tension, leaving you with lasting moisture and a pleasantly warm, cozy feeling after your bath.

Hot Spring & Bath Information

Bath

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Awara Onsen, a famed hot spring that opened in the Meiji era, was once widely known nationwide as Juraku Onsen and was deeply beloved by the poet Akiko Yosano. At Seifuso, we luxuriously use the abundant natural hot spring water that gushes continuously from our own source on the property. The spring quality is classified as sodium-calcium chloride spring (weakly alkaline, hypotonic, high-temperature spring). Because the salt that adheres to the skin after bathing helps prevent sweat from evaporating, it is renowned for its outstanding heat retention and is also known as the hot spring of heat. Astonishingly soft and gentle on the body, the water slowly warms you from the core, relieves muscle tension, and melts away daily fatigue. Another major feature is the lasting post-bath feeling of moisture and cozy warmth.
