Large Bath

A spacious large bath built entirely from Aomori hiba cypress. The moment you step inside, the refreshing scent of hiba cypress gently tickles your nose and envelops you in deep relaxation. Hyakuzawa Onsen, known locally as the "hot spring of heat," is served as luxurious free-flowing spring water with no heating or added water. The water contains chlorides and bicarbonates, and is characterized by a smooth, supple texture that seems to cling to the skin. It warms you from the core and gently melts away the fatigue of everyday life amid the quiet of abundant nature.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
