About Yukaitei Miyajima

Yukaitei Miyajima is a hot spring inn in Tsuruoka City, Yamagata Prefecture. Located right on the shoreline of the Sea of Japan, it is known as the inn closest to the setting sun. Its rooftop open-air observatory bath features a cypress tub and a unique tub arranged from a real fishing boat, letting guests enjoy a sweeping panorama of the sun setting over the Sea of Japan. At the second-floor observatory large bath and the basement large bath, guests can enjoy natural hot spring water rich in chloride through a variety of bathing areas. In the ocean-view rooms, guests can also luxuriate in natural hot spring water straight from the source in the in-room bath.

Rooftop observatory open-air bath

A rooftop observatory open-air bath with a 180-degree panorama overlooking the Sea of Japan. It features a cypress-built tub called the Great Sea Bath and a unique tub called the Sky Big Catch Bath, arranged from a real fishing boat, giving you the sensation of soaking as if you were floating on the sea. In the evening, you can watch the beautiful sunset sink into the Sea of Japan while tinting the sky and sea deep red, offering an unforgettable bathing experience that can only be enjoyed here.

Observatory large bath

Located on the second floor of the building, this observatory large bath boasts superb views that stretch straight to the horizon. It features the Tide Song Bath and the Cuckoo Bath, letting guests feel as though they are soaking directly in the sea. As you admire the spectacular view of the Sea of Japan through the large windows, you can surrender yourself to the gentle natural hot spring water rich in chloride and sink into deep relaxation both mentally and physically.

Basement large bath

The Turtle Bath and the Princess Bath, located on the first basement floor. Although there is no view outside, the space is quiet and calm, allowing you to fully appreciate the pure goodness of the natural hot spring water filling the tub. The salt-rich hot spring warms the body from within and promotes blood circulation. Even after bathing, your skin stays moist and hydrated, and the pleasant warmth lingers for a long time.
