"Towada Hotel" is a historic hotel located in Kosaka Town, Akita Prefecture. Its main building, Akita Cedar Hall, was built in the early Showa period by master temple carpenters and is designated as a Registered Tangible Cultural Property. The large public baths on the second floor of the annex, Aoba no Yu and Momiji no Yu, both feature open-air baths with sweeping panoramic lake views. Guests can enjoy a special, out-of-the-ordinary experience in the spacious indoor baths and open-air baths filled with pristine mountain spring water flowing into Lake Towada. The hotel also offers a luxurious scenic sauna where you can immerse yourself in the view of Lake Towada through the window.

A beautiful large public bath on the second floor of the annex, using clear mountain spring water that flows into Lake Towada (men: Aoba no Yu, women: Momiji no Yu). From the signature open-air bath, you can take in an overwhelming panoramic view of Lake Towada and the surrounding mountain range, whose appearance changes dramatically throughout the day. With the crisp air and the pleasant wind blowing down from Mt. Hakkoda, you can enjoy an extraordinary bath-time experience with a luxurious sense of floating, as if becoming one with nature. (This is not a hot spring.)

A full-fledged dry sauna in the public bath area, pleasantly scented with hinoki cypress. There is no TV in the room, only a 5-minute sand timer, creating a quiet and serene space. Its greatest feature is the large window inside the sauna, through which you can look out over magnificent Lake Towada and the deep green trees surrounding it. You can lose yourself in nature and enjoy an exceptional sweating experience at a relaxed pace amid the dry, comfortable heat. (The sauna is open only in the evening and at night.)
