About Hotel Parens Onoya
Hotel Parens Onoya is a long-established onsen inn in Asakura, Fukuoka Prefecture, founded more than 140 years ago. Its pride is the “double beauty bath,” which combines two types of spring water, a simple alkaline spring and a sulfur spring, and its silky water, smooth as a skin lotion, wraps gently around the skin. The tatami bath, the first in Kyushu, has special tatami mats laid across the washing area and is known for being slip-resistant and soft to the touch. There is also an airy garden open-air bath, a sauna filled with pleasant steam and a refreshing cold plunge. In refined, designer-made spaces, you can enjoy the soothing waters of this renowned onsen to your heart’s content.

Garden open-air bath
A wonderfully airy outdoor bath tucked quietly into a historic Japanese garden. The “double beauty bath,” combining two types of spring water, a simple alkaline spring and a sulfur spring, wraps gently around your skin. By day it feels refreshing in the clear air, and by night the illuminations create a dreamlike atmosphere in which you can enjoy the renowned waters to your heart’s content. The indoor bath on the outdoor bath side has a high ceiling built with kurokiyagura, a traditional construction technique using a framework of hinoki.
Tatami bath (indoor bath)
An indoor bath with special tatami mats laid across the washing area, the first of its kind in Kyushu. It is slip-resistant and soft to the touch, so sitting directly on it is neither painful nor cold. You can enjoy your bath at a leisurely pace.
Private bath
A private bath built as if nestled quietly in the inner courtyard, designed with privacy first. In the calm, away from the bustle, you can spend a luxurious time for just the two of you with the courtyard’s nature all to yourselves. There is also a barrier-free bathroom, so anyone can enjoy the soothing waters of the renowned onsen with peace of mind.
Guest room open-air baths
Private open-air baths with superb views that differ from room to room, taking in the Chikugo River, the Minou Mountains or a beautiful Japanese garden. Undisturbed by anyone, you can soak in the smooth water, fed straight from the source, never recirculated, as often as you like and whenever you like. Surrounded by refined interiors, it promises a blissful, soothing stay.

Dry sauna
Give yourself over to the gentle heat of the quiet dry sauna and work up a slow sweat. After a spell that seems to melt away the fatigue of daily life, a hinoki cold plunge awaits in the open-air area. Generously fed with tap water, it lets the cold pull your flushed body taut, and then you move on to cooling off in the open air, wrapped in the rich nature and pleasant breeze right beside it. It all leads you to deep relaxation and a superb state of totonou.
