SoranoNiwaResort

A premium acidic hot spring inn surrounded by the deciduous forest of Adatara, with 100% natural flowing beauty-skin baths and a pottery plate bath

Fukushima Nihonmatsu City

"Sora no Niwa Resort" is a resort hotel devoted to relaxation, nestled in a quiet deciduous forest at Dake Onsen in Nihonmatsu City, Fukushima Prefecture, on the slopes of the main peak of the Adatara mountain range at an elevation of 1,700m. Its greatest pride is an extremely rare hot spring found only in a few places nationwide: a high-concentration, premium acidic spring (simple acidic spring, pH2.5) that changes with the weather and temperature into a beautiful emerald-green-tinted milky white, cloudy bath. Fed by 100% natural flowing spring water with no dilution, no heating, and no recirculation, it has an exceptionally silky, lotion-like feel that gently tightens the skin and leaves it smooth, earning it the No. 3 spot in the national beauty-skin hot spring rankings. Guests can fully relax body and mind in the open-air bath overlooking the rich greenery of Adatara and the expansive sky, or in the indoor bath with its large windows framing the forest like a painting. The hotel also features a comfortable pottery plate bath for a pleasant sweat.

Hot Spring & Bath Information

Natural flowing indoor bath

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Flow-through

An indoor bath that luxuriantly overflows with 100% natural flowing Dake Onsen spring water from the spring outlet, using the mixed water from the five original springs of the hot spring area at pH2.5, with absolutely no dilution, heating, or recirculation. The pure white bath sediment gathered at the bottom turns into a beautiful milky bath with an emerald-green tint when stirred, bringing exceptional moisture and skin-beautifying benefits.

Observation open-air bath

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Flow-through

A spectacularly open milky open-air bath where you soak while looking up at the unobstructed, spacious blue sky of Adatara. The water is drawn from about 8km away from the slopes of Mount Adatara to Dake Onsen, and being hand-stirred gives it a gentle, soft texture that is kind to the skin. With an exquisite water temperature that feels wonderful even for a long soak, it is a relaxing place where you can feel the breath of nature.

Private bath

A spacious private bath where you can feel the rich deciduous forest nature of Adatara right beside you (fee required, reservation only, 45 minutes per session, ※not a hot spring, heated water only, closed in winter). A special space where you can enjoy a leisurely private bath with your companions or family while basking in dappled sunlight, without worrying about anyone else.
