About Shogawa Onsen Furyu-Midou Zashiki Yumetsuzuri

"Shogawa Onsen Furyu-Midou Zashiki Yumetsuzuri" is an onsen ryokan nestled along the Shogawa Gorge in Tonami, Toyama Prefecture. Overlooking the beautiful natural scenery of the Shogawa Gorge, which was selected as one of Japan's Top 100 Scenic Spots, it offers the finest relaxation with seasonal views pouring in through its large windows and the soothing murmur of the river. The gender-swapped large public baths, Hananoyu and Yumenoyu, feature a fragrant cypress bath, a rustic rock bath, a reclining bath, and a turtle-shaped bath. In addition, the luxurious private family baths decorated with the local famous stone Kanaya Stone, as well as rooms with open-air baths where guests can enjoy the hot spring in privacy at any time, are also highly popular.

Hot SpringONSEN

Large Public Bath Hananoyu

A spacious large public bath that can be enjoyed on a gender-swapped basis. The indoor bath is filled with the gentle waters of Shogawa Seiryu Onsen, and the view from the windows beautifully frames the garden greenery, bringing a sense of calm. The open-air area features a cypress open-air bath, where the refreshing scent of wood creates the feeling of a forest bath, and a turtle open-air bath, where you can sink into the water and enjoy a luxurious soak all to yourself. You can relax at an easy pace while feeling the seasonal breeze.

Large Public Bath Yumenoyu

The other gender-swapped large public bath. It includes an indoor bath and a reclining bath where you can lie back and gaze up at the sky. It also has a rugged rock open-air bath and an original turtle open-air bath, expanding the enjoyment of moving from one bath to another. The hot spring water, rich in sodium, chlorides, and bicarbonate ions, blends smoothly with the skin, warming you from the core and gently easing away travel fatigue.

Private Family Bath Honoka

A reservation-only family bath where you can enjoy the hot spring in complete privacy without worrying about anyone else. It is a stone bath made with Kanaya Stone, a rare green tuff that was quarried from the Sangeyama area on the opposite side of Tonami from the Edo period through the early Showa period. It offers a special time to enjoy the spring water, with the rustic character and gentle warmth unique to this historic famous stone, all to yourself with your family or someone special.

Private Family Bath Kinoka

A reservation-only semi-open-air family bath lavishly lined with cypress and wrapped in the refreshing scent of wood. While feeling the gentle Shogawa breeze flowing in through the windows, you can enjoy an exceptional sense of openness and deep relaxation, as if you were staying in your own private forest. It offers the ultimate luxurious bathing experience, where the scent of cypress and the warmth of the water blend together.

In-Room Open-Air Bath Shogawa Onsen

A luxurious private open-air bath made of cypress, available in rooms with open-air baths. While gazing directly at the ever-flowing Shogawa River and the magnificent seasonal panorama of the Shogawa Gorge, you can enjoy excellent hot spring water freely whenever you like. It promises a quiet, supremely luxurious time that lets you completely forget the busyness of everyday life.

Most of what we surveyed never even made it onto this site. This book is a further cut from what did. Our editor bathed in every onsen and sauna in it, and wrote only what they confirmed on the ground.
