Sanrakuen

An inn where you can enjoy two natural hot springs flowing directly from the source and Japan's first hot spring mud esthetics

Toyama Tonami City

"Torigoe no Yado Sanrakuen" is a hot spring ryokan in the Shogawa Onsen area of Tonami City, Toyama Prefecture. Founded in Taisho 13 as a culinary ryokan, its greatest appeal is that guests can enjoy two types of cloudy hot spring water with very different compositions, "sodium bicarbonate spring (milky white)" and "ferruginous spring (brownish-red)," both flowing directly from the source at the same time. Some guest rooms also feature open-air baths, allowing you to enjoy the hot spring water in privacy. In addition, the property includes a full-scale esthetic salon where guests can experience Japan's first hot spring mud therapy, "Shogawa Biofango Therapy," which incorporates traditional Italian techniques and provides deep relaxation for both body and mind.

Hot Spring & Bath Information

Large Bath Sodium Bicarbonate Spring

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Flow-through

A milky-white natural hot spring renowned as a beauty bath. It flows directly from the source into the large bath, and is said to help leave the skin smooth and supple. The water is very soft, and after bathing you can feel your skin becoming silky. It is also rich in minerals such as calcium and magnesium, and the bicarbonate ions gently remove excess dead skin and impurities.

Large Bath Ferruginous Spring

TypeNatural Hot Spring

Flow-through

A nationally rare natural hot spring that is extremely rich in iron and carbon dioxide, with a reddish-brown cloudy appearance. Its abundant source water warms the body from the inside, and because it also contains salt, it helps you stay warm after bathing. It is especially expected to be beneficial for poor circulation, gynecological symptoms, and chronic skin conditions. Guests can enjoy the luxury of alternating between two cloudy hot springs with completely different compositions in the same facility.

Open-Air Bath in Guest Room Shogawa Onsen

While taking in the changing beauty of nature throughout the seasons in the Shogawa Gorge, and under a sky full of stars at night, you can soak in beautiful skin-enhancing hot spring water whenever you like in your own private space. It promises the ultimate relaxation time, spent with someone special without worrying about the people around you.
